Disclosure: I think these are all from the Hermitage/Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, but it is possible some could be from other palaces.  Sadly, these recently discovered photos do not appear to be in the order they were originally taken.

Sorry there is some blurring in several of the pictures, but I think you can still get a sense of the beauty of these floors and ceilings.

Some of the best art at the Hermitage isn’t hanging on the walls…. it is under your feet or high above your head.
